Applications and/or nominationsfrom Indian Nationals are invited for the post of Director.
WIHG by 13.02.2023 (20.02.2023 for candidates in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram.
Manipur. Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Union territory of Ladakh Division, Jammu and Kashmir State,
Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman
and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep).
WIHG has been established by the Government of India as a specialized center of excellence
for advance level of research in all aspects of geology and geodynamics of the Himalayas.
The Director will have the overall administrative control of the Institute and will provide
high-level leadership to the Institute.
QUALIFICATION
Essential: Ph. D. in Sciences related to Earth System and experiences as mentioned in the detailed

Mode of Recruitment: Direct Recruitment/Deputation/Contract/Re-employment.
Tenure:3 to 5 years or on attaining the age of superannuation as per Govt, of India rules (60 years at
present), whichever is earlier.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 56 years as on 01.01.2024.
Scale of Pay: Pay Level-15 HAG Scale plus admissible allowances as per Center Government Rules.
