The Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Awantipora, Kashmir, has released an official advertisement notice for the engagement of Contractual Assistant Professors. These positions are on an academic arrangement basis for teaching, research, and allied academic activities for the year 2026.

Electronics & Communication Engineering	(i) B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. and M.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. or Integrated M.Tech. in relevant branch with first class or equivalent in any one degree. (ii) Ph.D. Degree awarded in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016. OR Ph.D. acquired directly after B.E./B.Tech from recognized University/IITs/IISc/NITs with first class at Bachelor’s level. OR Ph.D. from a foreign institution ranked among top 500 in World University Rankings (QS, THE, or ARWU).
5. Artificial Intelligence	(i) Master’s degree with 55% marks in CS / AI / Software Engineering / Data Science. (ii) Ph.D. Degree as per UGC standards. OR Integrated Ph.D. criteria as mentioned for engineering branches.
6. Computer Science	(i) Master’s degree with 55% marks in CS / IT / Computer Applications. (ii) Ph.D. Degree in accordance with UGC Regulations. OR Foreign Ph.D. from Top 500 ranked Universities.
7. Architecture (Structural Engineering)	(i) B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. in Civil Engineering and M.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. or Integrated M.Tech. in Structural Engineering with 1st Class. (ii) Ph.D. Degree as per UGC standards or from Top 500 Foreign Institutions.
8. Management Studies	(i) Master’s degree with 55% marks in concerned/relevant subject. (ii) Ph.D. Degree awarded in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016 or from Top 500 Foreign Universities.

Research Publications	10 Marks (2 marks per paper in Scopus/Web of Science)
Teaching/Post-Doctoral Experience	10 Marks (2 marks per year)

Salary and Tenure

Selected candidates will receive a consolidated emolument of Rs. 50,000/- per month. The engagement is initially for the year 2026 ending 31st December, or until the post is filled on a substantive basis, whichever is earlier.
