Recruitment for the Post of Head Constable (Motor Mechanic) – 2026
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) invites online applications from eligible Male Indian citizens. The recruitment also accepts subjects of Nepal or Bhutan. The vacancies are for the post of Head Constable (Motor Mechanic).
The post is in the General Central Service, Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted (Non-Ministerial) category. ITBP will engage candidates on a temporary basis, likely to become permanent. Selected candidates will serve anywhere in India or abroad.
Pay Scales: Level-4 in the Pay Matrix Rs. 25,500-81,100/- and Level-3 in the Pay Matrix Rs. 21,700-69,100/- (as per 7th CPC).

Important Notes

- 10% of the vacancies are reserved for Ex-servicemen. If the reserved vacancy remains unfilled, ITBP will fill it by non-Ex-servicemen candidates of respective categories.
- ITBP reserves the right to make changes in the sequence of the recruitment procedure. ITBP also reserves the right to cancel or postpone the recruitment at any stage.
- Application Fee: Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only). Fee is exempted for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Ex-servicemen.

Candidates whose applications are found in order shall be issued admit cards online. Candidates have to download online admit card from the ITBP recruitment website. 📝 Selection Process
The selection process will consist of several stages. It includes Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), and Verification of original documents (Documentation). It also includes a Written Examination, Practical (Skill) Test, Detailed Medical Examination (DME), and Review Medical Examination (RME).
The medical examination will assess the fitness of candidates. ITBP will conduct it as per Uniform Guidelines for Recruitment Medical Examination for GOs and NGOs in CAPFs and AR. These guidelines are issued vide MHA U.O. No. A.VI-1/2014-Rectt (SSB) dated 20.05.2015 and A.VI.1/14-Rectt (SSB) dated 24.08.2015, as amended from time to time.

About ITBP
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) is a central armed police force in India.
