Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR) is a frontier institute of Defence Research & Development in Leh-Ladakh region. Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR) is a centre of Armaments & Research Development Establishment (ARDE) a premier establishment of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) working on trial and testing & high-altitude technologies.

Upper Age Limit: 28 years and 35 years for JRF and RA respectively as on date of walk-in-interview. Relaxable for SC, ST & OBC candidates as per GoI orders.
Stipend (monthly) and tenure of fellowship:
(a) JRF: A stipend of Rs (37,000/- + HRA) per month for an initial period of two years and performance-based extension / upgradation as per DRDO guidelines subject to a maximum total period of 5 years.
(b) RA: A stipend of Rs (67,000/- + HRA) per month for a maximum period of two years.

Application Procedure and Walk-in Details:
Desirable candidates shall report by 0845 hours on 14 Oct 2026 (Wednesday) for walk-in interview at Defence Institute of High-Altitude Research (DIHAR), Leh (Union Territory of Ladakh). Initial screening and verification of testimonials will be done between 0900-1130 hrs on the interview date.
Candidates shall bring the following in original along with a self-attested copy of each:
- Certificates wrt DoB and Essential qualification in original along with a self-attested copy of each.
- Neatly typed Bio-data.
- Copy of Aadhar Card.
- Documents in support of preferential experience wrt RA Post if applicable.
- Copy of all above documents.
