SCHOLARSHIP NOTIFICATION

National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS)-inviting applications from Class-VIII (8th) students.

It is notified for the information of aspiring candidates that under Centrally Sponsored Scheme, The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education is going to conduct National Means- cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination 2023-24 in February-March 2024 (date to be notified later on) for the students who are currently on rolls in class VIII in the UT of J

& K. The students should have a minimum percentage of 55% marks in class VII examination for appearing in the selection test with 5% relaxation for SC/ST students. In addition,

1. the student must be studying in a Govemment/Government-aided/Local Local I Body: Body School only the overall family income should not exceed Rs. 3.50 Lakh per annum

reservation will be provided to different categories of students as per the reservation policy of the UT of J&K

FOR AVAILING THE SCHOLARSHIP

1. A student must pass two tests i.e. Mental Aptitude Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) with at least 40% marks in aggregate (taken together for those two tests). For the

2 SC/ST students, this cut off will be 32% marks. The duration of Scholarship is four years and the student has to score at least 55% marks in Class VIII, 60% marks in class X (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST candidates) and clear promo- tion in the first attempt from class IX to class X and class XI to class XII.

NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS

1069 scholarships will be awarded to the students selected in order of merit and the amount of scholarship is Rs. 12000.00 (Rupees twelve thousand only) per annum per student i.e. a total amount of Rs. 48000.00 (Rupees forty-eight thousand) for each selected students from Class IX to Class XII. Examination NMMSS Examination will comprise of two papers.

duly attested by the Head of the Institution along with the requisite documents (ie. class VII marks certificate, income certificate and category certificate, if applicable) and a pay-in-slip

of Rs.60.00 (Rupees sixty only), favoring Liaison Officer, NMMS to be deposited in JK Bank Account NO.0547010100000002, Branch JKBOSE, Bemina, Srinagar (IFSC Code JAKAOXAMBR)

must reach the office or the concerned Chief Education Officer (Designated District Nodal Officer. NMMS Scheme) by or before 31st January 2024.

The concemed Chief Education Officers (DNOs) shall prepare the database of the candidates in the prescribed excel format (available on JKBOSE website) and submit the Application Forms

along with requisite documents and database of their respective districts to CDR Wing, Rehari Colony, Jammu/Bemina, Srinagar within seven days of the closing date of this notification.
