All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi has been nominated as the mentoring institute for All India Institute of Medical Sciences AIIMS Awantipora J&K, by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
An Institute of National Importance, AIIMS Awantipora is being established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) to correct regional imbalances in quality tertiary healthcare and attain self-sufficiency in graduate, postgraduate, and higher medical education.
