ENGAGEMENT OF CONSULTANTS FOR BOKARO GENERAL HOSPITAL & MINES
Bokaro Steel Plant, invites application from qualified Doctors (including retired Doctors) to appear in the ‘Walk-in-Interview’ for engagement of Consultant (Doctors in Medical Discipline) as Super-Specialist,

Specialists & General Duty Medical Officers (GDMO) for Bokaro General Hospital (BGH), a 910 bedded multispecialty hospital and Mines of SAIL, having a total of 175 bed in its Hospitals & OHS in its various mines located at Jharkhand [Kiriburu-Meghahatuburu Iron Ore Mines & Gua Ores Mine] run by Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) – a Maharatna Public Sector Enterprise and the leading steel-making company in India.

B: Backlog

Who can apply
a) Interested & eligible candidates having requisite qualifications can walk-in for interview at the scheduled date, time & venue.
b) Ex-employees of SAIL Plants/Units and other PSUs/Govt. can also apply, provided, they have not separated by opting for voluntary retirement. The ex-employee doctors will have to provide self-certificate in this regard.
Age limit
69 years as on date of advertisement i.e. 20/11/2025. However, the consultants to be engaged should be fit to perform his/her duties.
Tenure of engagement
a) The initial tenure of engagement of Consultants engaged under this Scheme would be for a period of one year or till attaining the age of 70 years whichever is earlier, which can be further extended for a period of one year at the discretion of the Company.

Maximum period of engagement under the same contract would not be more than 3 years. However, there will be no bar on re-engagement. The tenure of engagement shall be subject to the upper age limit as prescribed above.

b) The performance of the Consultant (Doctor) so engaged will be reviewed on annual basis and the tenure can be curtailed or extended, subject to satisfactory performance.

Essential Qualification & Remuneration
Registered with MCI/NMC/SMC/DCI or having valid practitioner license and enrolled in the State Register or National Register (as applicable) in addition to the below mentioned qualification.
The essential qualification and corresponding remuneration rates of the Consultants to be engaged under the scheme shall be as under:

Candidates having relevant work experience will be given preference. The essential qualification and work experience, if any, shall be taken into account as on the date of advertisement i.e. 20/11/2025.

Job Description
To work in various departments of Medical and Health Services (M&HS) as and when required. The doctors shall perform such work and service as entrusted to them and attend to their work regularly for a minimum of 8 hours a day for six days in a week or 48 hours a week.
However, if engagement is for less than 8 hours per day/48 hours a week, the rates shall be pro-rated accordingly. The monthly rate should not exceed the maximum prescribed limit of the respective category.
Other Benefits
a) In case of ex-employees of SAIL (upto E-7 grades), who are to be engaged as consultants, the allotted company accommodation, subject to availability, may be retained during their engagement period with rent and other charges for electricity & water charges etc. to be charged for that category of accommodation.
In case of ex executives in higher grade(s) i.e higher than E-7 grade or in case where the allotted accommodation is the Designated/Earmarked accommodation, only such company accommodation (as applicable to executives upto E-7 grade) can be considered for allotment, subject to availability as the case may be. For other ex-employee of SAIL who require to have company accommodation, the type of company accommodation in such cases can be considered as per entitlement on the day of separation (as applicable to executives upto E-7 grade), subject to availability and payment of relevant charges as applicable for ex-employees.
b) The non-SAIL employees engaged as Consultants under the Scheme can be provided Company accommodation (2 BHK or equivalent category) on payment basis, if desired, subject to availability. The rent and other charges for electricity, water etc. shall be as applicable for that category of quarter for SAIL employees.
c) At mines location, the company accommodation will be provided rent free, subject to availability, though other charges will be payable. In case doctors engaged for mines location under the scheme desires to keep his/her family at a plant/unit location, provision of accommodation at Plant/Unit location may be allowed on payment basis, as applicable for that category of quarter, subject to availability.
d) No HRA will be admissible.
e) Post-paid SIM under CUG including monthly call charges, monthly rental and applicable taxes shall be provided with the monthly ceiling given as under:
MBBS ₹ 350/- per month
MBBS with PG Diploma/Degree in a speciality ₹ 500/- per month
DM/MCh/DNB(Super-Speciality)/DrNB (Super-speciality) ₹ 650/- per month
f) In case of ex-employee of SAIL, the medical benefits as applicable/available for ex-employees will continue. In other cases, the medical benefits shall be available for self and spouse, only at the unit hospital provided he/she is not getting the same from his/her previous organization and no referrals for outside hospital will be allowed.
g) The consultants engaged under the Scheme will be eligible to get 10 days leave in a year subject to prior approval.
Selection Process
a) Through “Walk-in-Interview” followed by a medical screening.
b) Engagement will start immediately after the selection of the candidate is completed and orders are issued for engagement.
c) Candidates responding to the advertisement for “ENGAGEMENT OF CONSULTANTS FOR BOKARO GENERAL HOSPITAL / MINES” will have to download the Application Form (Annexure I) and submit the duly-filled application form along with the listed supporting documents at the time of ‘Walk-in-Interview’. GENERAL CONDITIONS:

Candidate must be an Indian national possessing requisite qualification from an institute recognized by MCI/NMC/SMC/DCI (as applicable) and having valid practitioner licence.

All certificates & documents in support of eligibility will be verified only during ‘Walk-in-Interview’ and any candidate who fails to produce the same will not be allowed to appear at the interview. Therefore candidates are required to ensure their eligibility before appearing in the ‘Walk-in-Interview’.
The consultants engaged under this scheme shall be eligible for Maternity leave as per Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 subject to fulfilment of conditions stipulated in the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961.
The contractual engagement under the scheme can be terminated by giving one months’ notice by either party. However, in case of poor performance, moral turpitude, conviction by Court of Law, insolvency, loss of licence to practice, grave misconduct or financial irregularity and if there is evidence of the Doctor being medically unfit and likely to continue for a considerable period of time and cannot discharge normal duty hours, the contract can be terminated by the company.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending ‘Walk-in-Interview’/selection process.
The engagement is purely on “contractual basis” and is not to be construed as giving rise to any right of regular appointment in BSL in any manner whatsoever.
BSL reserves the sole authority to consider the cases as per its rules and decision of BSL in this regard shall be firm & binding.
Candidature of an applicant is liable to be rejected at any stage of the selection process or after selection, if any information provided by the candidate is found to be false or is found not to be in conformity with requisite eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement.
In case of any dispute on interpretation of any part of this advertisement, howsoever arising, the decision of the Company shall be final and binding.
