Applications are invited on the prescribed Application Form for the temporary position of Young Professional (YP) to be engaged on a contract basis in the Centre for IT Enabled Services and Management, University of Jammu, for a period of 1 year, extendable by another two years (maximum up to three years) on satisfactory performance that is required to be appraised every year.
The Young Professional (YP) is required in the following area:

QUALIFICATION, ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA, DUTIES AND EMOLUMENTS:

I. SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER – ICT INFRASTRUCTURE ADMINISTRATION (1 Position)

PLACE OF POSTING	Centre for IT Enabled Services & Management, University of Jammu
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION	M.Tech/M.E/M.S in Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology with minimum 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
OR
B.Tech./B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering/ Information Technology with minimum 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
OR
M.Sc in Computer Science/ Information Technology with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA with a minimum of five years’ experience in the relevant field.
OR
M.C.A. from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
DESIRABLE WORK EXPERIENCE	* Server management and administrations such as Apache, Name server, LDAP, Radius, Proxy, and SMTP.

Knowledge of Virtualization (VMware, ESNi, and Xen).
Firewall (Policy Management and ACLs).
Networks and Security Tools.
Hands-on experience in managing networking, routing, and switching.
Knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server and network infrastructure.
Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.
Ability to set up and configure servers and private cloud.
Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies.
Virtualization & Cloud Technologies.
Experience in managing Racks, Servers, Storage systems.
Installation, Configuration, and Management of all kinds of Servers. |
| DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES | * Provide network support services.
Assist in network design and implementation.
Provide network support with a variety of operating systems.
Experience of Load balancers & network segmentation.
Install and configure computer network equipment.
Maintain network connectivity of all computer workstations.
Provide network support to users.
Maintain servers, private cloud, and associated hardware, applications, services, and settings.
Develop and implement policies for the use of network resources.
Implement and manage disaster recovery and back-up.
Knowledge of SAN & NAS solutions.
Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades.
Monitor network to ensure optimal performance.
Create and maintain network users/permissions.
Test release of products to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.
Create technical support documentation for systems and applications. |

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The said engagement shall be initially for a period of one year extendable by two more years (maximum up to three years) on satisfactory performance that is required to be appraised every year by the Director, CITES&M.
The positions are subject to periodic evaluation of the performance of the incumbent and if, on such evaluation, the performance is not found to be satisfactory, the contract will be terminated with one-month notice.
The appointment will be on a full-time basis and the incumbent will not be permitted to take up any other assignment during the period of the contract. The contract may be terminated by either party by giving one-month advance notice in writing.
The incumbent will not be considered to be a permanent employee of the Centre and conferment of this contract will not imply any assurance or guarantee for regular employment in the Centre. The incumbent shall not claim for regularization or absorption in the Centre. However, the incumbent may apply for the advertised posts subject to meeting eligibility criteria for the post and as per institutional policy.
All educational, professional, and technical qualifications should be from a recognized Board/ University.
Persons working in Govt. or Public Sector Undertaking should apply through the proper channel or produce “No-Objection Certificate” at the time of the selection process/interview.

The list of shortlisted candidates will be uploaded on the University website (www.jammuuniversity.ac.in). As such, the applicants are advised to keep checking the website for information and other updates.
In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the University shall be final and binding.
Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected.
Candidates invited for the interview, etc., will have to present themselves at Jammu at their own expenses.
Impersonation or submission of false/fabricated/tampered documents or making incorrect/false statements by a candidate, with or in addition to debarring him/her permanently or for a specific period from any employment in the University, shall also render him/her liable for criminal prosecution.
The University also reserves the right to fill or NOT to fill any of the temporary posts advertised, in the event of exigency so decided by the University.
Candidates selected for engagement will have to produce the original documents relating to their age, qualifications, experience, etc., at the time of the interview, etc., and also before joining the post to which they are appointed.
In case of any corrigendum/addendum pertaining to this advertisement, the same shall be published on the University Website only. Accordingly, all applicants in their own interest are advised to keep track of the University Website.
