The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) has issued a prestigious recruitment notification for young Indian researchers. The DRDO Young Scientist Lab-Artificial Intelligence (DYSL-AI) is inviting applications for the Award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) to work on cutting-edge AI technologies.

DYSL-AI, located in Bengaluru, is a premier laboratory constituted of young scientists focusing on research and development in Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision, and Reinforcement Learning. a. Strong fundamentals in problem solving and algorithm design.

d. Experience with PyTorch, Tensorflow, or Keras.

Specialized Knowledge (Either one):
i. Speech and NLP.
ii. 3D Vision, SLAM, and ROS.
iii. Computer Vision & Generative Models.
iv. Reinforcement Learning.

Salary and Benefits

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 37,000/- plus HRA as applicable (currently 30%). The total monthly emoluments will be approximately Rs. 48,100/-. In cases where DRDO accommodation is provided, HRA will be deducted.

The tenure is initially for two years as a JRF, with the possibility of elevation to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for the subsequent two to three years based on performance. Fellows may also be allowed to register for a part-time Ph.D. during their tenure.

Eligibility and Age Limit

The upper age limit is 28 years as on the date of the interview. This limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. Only those who have already been awarded their degree or provisional degree are eligible to apply.

Selection and Application Process

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their GATE score or the percentage of marks in their qualifying degree. Shortlisted individuals will be called for a personal or online interview at DYSL-AI, Bengaluru.
