Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara has issued Advertisement Notice No. 16/CMO/GMCH/2025 dated 24-11-2025 for engagement of Casualty Medical Officers (CMOs) on Academic Arrangement Basis under S.O. 364 of 2020 (dated 27-11-2020) in various departments.
Applications are invited from eligible candidates (domiciles of UT J&K and non-PSC) for 11 posts. The recruitment is initially for one year and may be extended up to three years, subject to performance.

Eligibility and Criteria

• MBBS degree from an NMC-recognized institution
• Valid State/NMC registration
• Completion of internship and submission of required certificates (marks, registration, DOB, domicile, academic distinction, experience)
• Age limit: Up to 63 years as on the date of notification

Selection will be as notified under S.O. 364 of 2020 and Government Orders. All appointment rules of the J&K Civil Services and recruitment are followed as per guidelines from the Health & Medical Education Department.

Application process includes submitting the prescribed application form (available in the downloads section at gmchandwara.co.in), Rs. 500 demand draft (from J&K Bank pledged to Chief Accounts Officer, GMC Handwara), and self-attested documents to the Office of Registrar Academics, GMC Handwara.
