Recruitment Notice

The Office of the Principal, Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara has issued Advertisement Notice No. 02-SR (GMCH) of 2026 for the engagement of:

Senior Residents
Tutors
Demonstrators

These appointments are made purely on an Academic Arrangement basis under S.O. 364 dated 27-11-2020. GMC Handwara Senior Residents/Tutors/Demonstrators job opportunities notice 02-SR GMCH of 2026

📌 Tenure:
Initial appointment for 1 year, extendable up to 3 years, subject to satisfactory performance and recommendations of the concerned Head of Department.

📌 In-service (PSC) candidates must fulfill all requirements under J&K Civil Services Rules, 1979 and submit a valid NOC.

Available Departments

Vacancies are available in the following departments:

Physiology
Pharmacology
General Surgery
Orthopaedics
Radio-Diagnosis
Anaesthesiology
Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Eligibility & Selection Criteria

Selection shall be made as per Govt. Order No. 383-JK(HME) of 2024
Vacancy strength as per Order No. 307-JK(HME) of 2022
Maximum age limit: 50 years (as on cut-off date)
Candidates with higher qualifications shall be given preference

Terms & Conditions

Selected candidates shall not engage in private practice or any other employment (part-time/full-time)
A security deposit equal to one month’s salary shall be retained and released only after successful completion of one year
No experience certificate will be issued if the candidate leaves before completing six months

Higher qualification certificates (DM / MCH / DNB)
Date of Birth & Domicile Certificates
Affidavit from 1st Class Magistrate (not on rolls of other medical colleges)
NOC (for in-service candidates)
