Applications through online mode are invited from eligible applicants who are domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the tenure posts of Senior Residents / Demonstrators / Tutors initially for a period of one year, extendable up to a maximum of three years.

Note: Candidates who have appeared in the Final Examination of Postgraduate/postdoctoral courses in the relevant discipline can also apply.

Important Terms & Conditions

• Selection Basis: The selection will be purely based on the performance in an MCQ-based Written Test.
• Age Limit (As on cutoff date): Broad specialties upper age limit is 45 years; for Anatomy and Biochemistry, it is 50 years (applicable for both in-service and non-service candidates).
• Application Fee: A non-refundable amount of ₹1,000/- must be paid online via Net Banking, UPI, Credit, or Debit cards.
• Salary & Stipend: In-service doctors will receive salaries as per their LPC. Non-service candidates will be paid a stipend in accordance with S.O. 364 of 2020.
• Tenure Constraints: Maximum total tenure is 3 years. Candidates who have already completed 3 years of Registrarship/Senior Residency anywhere are ineligible. Those with up to 30 months completed can apply for the remaining balance period.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE & TIMELINES

1. Registration forms must be filled up exclusively via the online portal on the official website of Government Medical College, Srinagar: https://www.gmcs.ac.in/.

2. The online link will remain functional from 03.07.2026 (10:00 AM) onwards up to 23.07.2026 (strictly until 4:00 PM).

3. Upload scanned PDF copies of original qualification degrees, MBBS/MD/MS/M.Ch/DM certificates, internship records, J&K Domicile, Date of Birth proof, and NMC/JK Medical Council registration (Size ≤ 1024KB). Recent passport photograph and signature must be uploaded in JPEG format (≤ 700KB).

4. Crucial Submission Step: After successful online submission, candidates must take a colored printout of the application form and submit its hard copy along with self-attested Xerox duplicates of all certificates to the Office of Registrar Academics, Government Medical College, Srinagar as and when asked.
