The Office of the Principal, Govt. Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College, Canal Road, Jammu has released an advertisement notification for the engagement of a Research Associate / Research Assistant. The position is available on a part-time basis for an initial period of one year, extendable to a second year depending on individual performance.

This recruitment is for a purely time-bound JKST&IC sponsored research project under the Sponsored Research & Extension Program 2025-26 of JKST&IC. The designated project will be entirely undertaken at the Physical Research Centre, G.G.M. Science College, Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir).

Project Details:

Project Title: “Impact of Pesticides on Soil Health of Ranbir Singh Pura, Jammu District (JK) and Their Remediation Using Metal Oxide Nanoparticles and Nanocomposites”
Project Reference No: JKST&IC/28/R&D/2025/2199-2203 Dated: 02-12-2025
Fellowship Amount: Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 per month (depending on the qualification and experience)

Essential Qualifications:

For Research Associate: Ph.D. in Physics / Material Science / Nanoscience. Candidates who have formally submitted their Ph.D. Thesis are also eligible to apply.
For Research Assistant: M.Sc. in Physics / Material Science / Nanoscience with a minimum First Class (60% score or CGPA=6.5) from UGC-recognized Institutes / Colleges / Universities.
Alternative Eligibility: Four Year Degree Programme (FYUGP) appearing candidates with research experience are also eligible for the Research Assistant position.

Preferences & Job Responsibilities:

Preferred Experience: NET / GATE qualified individuals. Candidates with hands-on research experience in Green Synthesis and Characterization of Nanomaterials or Soil Analysis will be prioritized.

Core Responsibilities: Soil Sampling and Analysis using GC, HPLC, or AAS; Nanoparticle Green Synthesis (including Metal Oxide Nanoparticles like TiO2, ZnO, and Spinel Ferrites); Laboratory remediation trials; and Data Analysis combined with GIS mapping.
