Government Medical College Baramulla invites online applications for Senior Resident, Registrar, Tutor, and Demonstrator posts in several departments. The posts are available as per Government Order No. 383-JK (HME) of 2024 dated 20-06-2024.

Eligible candidates can apply for vacancies likely to arise in departments including Orthopaedics, OBG, Physiology, Forensic Medicine, Chest Medicine, Anatomy, General Medicine, General Surgery, Pharmacology, and General Surgery.

Appointments are initially for one year and may be extended up to three years based on satisfactory performance as reported by the concerned Head of Department.

Online application forms are available at www.gmcbaramulla.com from 10-11-2025.

The deadline to complete and submit the online application, along with required documents/testimonials, is 17-11-2025 up to 6:00 PM.

Required documents include:

Date of birth certificate
MBBS degree or equivalent
Marks cards of all professional examinations
State/MCI/NMC registration certificate
Postgraduate degree certificates
Additional qualification certificates issued by JKMC
Affidavit attested by the first class judicial magistrate (see Annexure ‘A’)
In-service/PJC candidates must submit NOC for undergoing senior residency

The application fee is Rs. 500, payable online by or before 17-11-25.

Candidates are selected based on their performance in an MCQ-based written test, following criteria in Government Order 383-JK (HME) of 2024. Date and details of the written test will be notified separately.

Fresh applicants who have not held senior residency posts for three years or more will be favored, but experienced candidates (completed 3 years of SR/Registrarship/Tutor/Demonstratorship) are provisionally acceptable.

Selection/appointment is subject to verification of all eligibility and issuance of requisite certificates.

Appointments will be on a full-time basis only, and employment is strictly temporary and based on candidate performance.

Any dispute regarding terms and selection will be governed by relevant J&K government regulations.
