IIT Jammu Recruitment 2026: JRF and SRF Positions in Electrical Engineering

The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) invites applications from energetic and enthusiastic Indian nationals for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or Senior Research Fellow (SRF) to work on the research project titled “Design and Development of Energy Efficient and Secure Hardware for Edge Intelligence”.

This prestigious project is sponsored by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), New Delhi. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in the cutting-edge domain of VLSI and Edge Intelligence under the guidance of expert faculty at IIT Jammu.

Position Details and Eligibility Criteria

Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

Number of Positions: 01 (One)

Essential Qualifications:

M.E./M.Tech. in Microelectronics/VLSI/Electronics and Communication Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 65% marks (or 6.5 CPI on a 10-point scale).
B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks (or 6.0 CPI on a 10-point scale).
Qualified in GATE (Electronics and Communication Engineering).

Desirable Experience:

Candidates having experience in Verilog/VHDL and EDA tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, etc., will be given preference.
For the SRF position, a minimum of two years of research experience in the VLSI domain is mandatory.

Remuneration and Age Limit

Fellowship: As per the latest SERB/DST norms. The selection committee will decide the designation (JRF or SRF) based on the performance and skills of the candidate during the interview.

Upper Age Limit:

JRF: 30 Years
SRF: 32 Years
Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PH and Women candidates as per Government of India norms.

The post is initially for a period of one year, which may be extended up to the duration of the project based on satisfactory performance. The interview will be conducted in online mode. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about the date and time of the interview via email. Selected candidates will also be encouraged to apply for the PhD program at IIT Jammu, provided they satisfy the regular admission criteria.
