Engagement of Apprentices
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Mohali, an Institute of National Importance, was established in 2007 by the Government of India under the Ministry of Education (formerly MHRD). The institute is dedicated to frontier scientific research and to providing quality undergraduate and postgraduate education in science.
IISER Mohali invites applications from dedicated, committed, and eligible Indian citizens for engagement as Apprentices under The Apprentices Act, 1961, on a fixed consolidated monthly stipend.

Eligibility Conditions
- Applicant must be a citizen of India.
- Age limit: 18 to 25 years as on the last date of application.
Age relaxation applicable for SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / PwBD candidates as per Government of India norms. - Candidates must have completed their Degree/Diploma in 2022, 2023, or 2024 only.
- Applicants must not have undergone or be currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
- Qualifications must be obtained from recognized universities or institutions.
Apprenticeship Duration & Conditions
- Apprenticeship duration shall be 12 months.
- Training will be governed by The Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 (as amended).
- Apprenticeship contracts will be registered on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal under Board of Apprenticeship Training (Northern Region), Kanpur.
- IISER Mohali is not obligated to offer employment during or after completion of apprenticeship.
Selection Procedure
- Selection will be based on merit, calculated from percentage of marks obtained in qualifying degree/diploma.
- In case of a tie, higher marks in the preceding qualification will be considered.
Medical Fitness & Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates must be declared medically fit by a registered Medical Officer of a Government/Municipal Hospital.

- 10th and 12th certificates and marksheets
- Degree/Diploma certificates and marksheets
- Caste certificate (if applicable)
- Aadhaar Card
- Recent passport-size photograph
- Bank passbook (account in candidate’s name only)
