राष्ट्रीय तकनीकी वस्त्र मिशन (NTTM) द्वारा स्वीकृत अनुसंधान परियोजना “Low-cost Prosthetics Design and Fabrication using Advanced Textile and Composites Technology” पर कार्य हेतु इच्छुक उम्मीदवारों से जूनियर रिसर्च फेलो (JRF) पद के लिए आवेदन आमंत्रित किए जाते हैं।

Applications are invited from the interested candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on the funded research project titled “Low-cost Prosthetics Design and Fabrication using Advanced Textile and Composites Technology” sanctioned by National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM).

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering and related streams.

Job Profile: The selected candidate must be able to do numerical modelling of composite materials and mechanical testing on composite materials.

Initially for 3 months and may be extended depending on the performance or ending of the project whichever is earlier

INR 31,000/- plus 16% HRA as applicable

आवश्यक योग्यता और मापदंड / Essential Qualification and Criteria:

1. M.Tech. / M.E. in Mechanical Engineering/ M.E. in Computer Integrated Manufacturing / Materials Engineering/ Applied Mechanics/ Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Machine design, Polymer Science, Composites, Engineering Design and related streams and B.Tech/ B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering or Polymer Science and Engineering with minimum 60% marks (or 6.5/ 10.0 CGPA) , Valid GATE score is preferable.

1. B.Tech. /B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Materials Engineering/ Applied Mechanics/ Aerospace Engineering and related streams with a minimum 60% mark (or 6.5/ 10.0 CGPA) throughout starting from Class XII, with a mandatory Valid GATE score.

Master of Science in Polymer Science, Materials Science, and Materials Technology along with a mandatory Valid GATE score / NET Exam.

Note: Candidates without a valid GATE/NET qualification but fulfilling the essential educational qualifications may also apply. If selected, they will be appointed as Project Associate-I/II, as applicable, with a fellowship of ₹25,000/₹28,000 per month + 16% HRA, in accordance with the applicable guidelines.

A sound knowledge of programming languages like C/C++, Python, MATLAB
Experience in working on Finite Element software e.g. ABAQUS, Ansys etc.

Duly filled application form, along with the requested details, scanned copies of certificates, and other supporting documents, should be uploaded through the online portal (https:[dot]//apply[dot]iitjammu[dot]ac[dot]in/#/home) by 30th August 2026. The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of the information, other documents, and photographs submitted.

Merely possessing the prescribed qualification does not ensure that the candidate will be called for an Interview. The candidates may be shortlisted based on merit and need for the project.

Shortlisted candidates must present themselves for the interview on the interview date with an updated CV and original and attested photocopies of mark sheets/certificates supporting their academic qualifications. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview. The time of the interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates by e-mail. The interview will be held using the online/offline platform.
