NOTICE FOR WALK IN TEST

The Jammu and Kashmir Biodiversity Council is monitoring the verification and

updation of Peoples Biodiversity Registers (PBRS) prepared by the BMCs in Jammu as well as

Kashmir provinces of the U.T. In order to update the PBRS in the field at BMCs level and to

assist in other assignments of the Council, the Member Secretary J&KUT Biodiversity Council/

Director Jammu and Kashmir Forest Research Institute invites applications from interesting

candidates of Jammu/Kashmir Regions for a walk-in test which would be followed by an

interview to engage suitable candidates as Junior Research Fellows (JRF), purely on temporary

basis, for a period of seven-months under the funding available with the JK Biodiversity Council.

Description of task:

i. To assist in updation of PBRS of Kashmir region

ii. To assist in Operationalization & functioning of BMCs

iii. To assist in training awareness & implementation of ABS mechanisms & BD Act-2002.

iv. To assist in updation of e-dashboard and any other task assigned by the Council.

i. Knowledge of plant taxonomy, identification of flora & fauna.

ii. Experience of carrying site visits for survey/data collection for updation of PBRs would

be given preference.

Selection process:

Applicants must submit an application after the advertisement is issued. He/She must

give a written examination and based on the performance in written screening test, shortlisted

candidates shall be called for viva voice. The breakup of the marks is given as follows:

General Terms & Conditions:

i. Eligible candidates, satisfying above criteria should report by 10.00 AM for registration

and scrutiny of documents on 24.07.2023 followed by the Walk-in test on the same day at

11.30 AM.

ii. The Walk-in test for Jammu region shall be organized at JKFRI Complex, Janipur Jammu

and for Kashmir region at JKFRI Complex Sonwar, Near Woodland School Srinagar.

iii. Shortlisted candidates shall appear for viva voice on 26.07.2023.

iv. Candidates should bring the application indicating qualification and experience along

with one passport size photograph, true copies of testimonials of educational

qualifications, research experience, marks sheets of all examinations, etc.

v. All original documents /certificates must be produced at the time of registration.

vi. The engaged fellows shall have to work strictly as per work schedule and calendar of

JKUTBC.

vii. No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the walk in test/Interview.

viii. A copy of specific and detailed terms & conditions shall be provided to the selected

candidates after completion of the selection procedure.
