Advertisement Notice for the Position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Project Associate

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the position of JRF (01) and one Project Associate (01) in DST-SHRI funded research project titled: “Promotion of Endangered Dialects of Erstwhile Doda District with the Help of AI based Approaches.”

Name of the Positions: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)-01 (ONE)

Tenure of the Project: 03 years (Initial appointment is for 01 year which is extendable up to the project duration based on the progress of the candidate)

Emoluments: As per the DST rules.

Qualifications:

Junior Research Fellow (JRF):

Essential: Master’s Degree in English with at least 55% marks and NET/SLET qualified.
Desirable: Experience in phonetic transcription, ability to record, classify, and transcribe oral data from local speakers; experience in dialect documentation; must be familiar to Pahari Dialects; should be comfortable in living in and visiting remote areas for field work; competent in creating audio-visual archives; familiarity with ELAN, PRAAT, or other annotation tools is a plus.

Age Limit: Upper age limit is 28 years as on the day of the applications are received (5 years age relaxation for candidates belonging to SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/OBC categories).
