Engagement of Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), India’s flagship energy major and a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise engaged in Exploration and Production of Oil & Gas in India and abroad, proposes to engage apprentices from operational areas at its locations across 25 work centres. Applications are invited from candidates meeting the following qualifications for engagement as Apprentices in the trades/disciplines mentioned below.

Location and Tentative Number of Seats

Candidates may choose trade/location as per their choice if they meet all eligibility criteria (education, age, domicile, etc.). In case of multiple applications, apprenticeship will be allocated at one centre and trade only as per ONGC discretion.

Age & Relaxation

Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as on 06.11.2025 (DOB between 06.11.2001 and 06.11.2007).
SC/ST: +5 years, OBCNC: +3 years, PwBD: up to +10 years.

General Conditions & Selection

Candidates who have NOT undergone/pursuing Apprenticeship Training are eligible.
Not eligible if trained or employed post-qualification for more than 1 year as on cut-off date.
Duration of training: 12 months for all listed trades.
Selections for engagement as Apprentices would be merit-based on qualifying exam marks. In case of tie, higher age considered.
Reservation of positions as per Government of India norms.
Stipend: Graduate Apprentice (BA/BCom/BSc/BBA/BE/BTech) – Rs. 12,300/month; Diploma – Rs. 10,900/month; Trade Apprentices (10th/12th) – Rs. 8,200/month; ITI (1 yr) Rs. 9,600/month; ITI (2 yrs) Rs. 10,560/month.
