Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must possess MD/DNB in the concerned specialty as defined by NMC (latest regulations). A valid result notification from the University is acceptable. Age limit: not more than 45 years as on 01.01.2026. Candidates who have already completed 3 years or more of Senior Residency (within or outside the institution) are debarred. Applicants must be domiciles of J&K or Ladakh.

Pay Scale & Tenure: Stipend for non‑in-service (PSC non‑confirmed) Senior Residents shall be as per Government Order No. 48‑SKIMS of 2018. In‑service candidates shall draw the same salary as in their parent department with usual allowances. The tenure is initially for one year, extendable by another year (third year subject to performance). A security deposit of 30 days’ salary will be retained and released at the end of the tenure. Early departure (before one year) may result in forfeiture of the deposit.

वेतनमान एवं कार्यकाल: गैर‑सेवारत (PSC गैर‑पुष्ट) वरिष्ठ निवासियों का वजीफा सरकारी आदेश संख्या 48‑SKIMS/2018 के अनुसार होगा। सेवारत उम्मीदवारों को उनके मूल विभाग के समान वेतन तथा सामान्य भत्ते मिलेंगे। कार्यकाल प्रारंभ में एक वर्ष का है, जो एक अन्य वर्ष के लिए बढ़ाया जा सकता है (तीसरा वर्ष प्रदर्शन के अधीन)। 30 दिन के वेतन की सुरक्षा जमा राशि रखी जाएगी और कार्यकाल के अंत में वापस कर दी जाएगी। जल्दी प्रस्थान (एक वर्ष से पहले) पर जमा राशि जब्त हो सकती है।

Key Terms & Conditions: Tenure engages cannot apply for similar positions outside the institution for at least 1 year after joining. They must reside near the college for emergency availability. No private practice or part‑time work is permitted. They are not entitled to winter/summer vacations. An undertaking/affidavit sworn before a First‑Class Magistrate must be submitted within two weeks of joining. The engagement can be terminated at any time for unsatisfactory performance or misconduct.
