Eligible candidates are invited to appear for a walk-in interview for 01 temporary position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an Advanced Research Grant scheme sponsored by ANRF, Government of India. The project is titled “Functional and glycan-specific characterization of Lactobacillus spp. lectin receptors from vaginal-rectal microbiota mediating bacterial-viral interactions at mucosal surfaces for mechanistic and translational insights into HIV-1 acquisition” in the Postgraduate Department of Biochemistry, Sri Pratap College, Cluster University Srinagar. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the duration of the project. The stipend is fixed at 44,400.00 per month.

The required eligibility criteria includes an M. Sc in Life Sciences or equivalent with 60% marks in the qualifying exam. Preference will be given to candidates having qualified CSIR/ICMR/DBT/ICAR-NET/JRF. Candidates with hands-on experience in bioinformatics, next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis, metagenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, multi-omics data integration, statistical analysis using R/Python, and computational biology will be preferred. Experience in handling infectious clinical samples, microbiological techniques, microbial culturing, host-microbe interaction studies, virology, viral pathogenesis, HIV research, microbiome analysis, genome assembly and annotation and biological database mining will be considered an added advantage. Preference will be given to candidates willing to pursue a Ph.D. degree. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
