Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) Surat is established by the Government of India by an Act of Parliament, offering undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral programs in engineering, technology, and the sciences.

The minimum educational qualifications and desirable areas of specialization in the departments are given in Annexure-II which is available on the institute website.

However, the Institute reserves the right to select/ consider any other area of specialization and adopt suitable process for screening of candidates for interview. The candidates applying under OBC (NCL)/ EWS category has to produce the valid certificate issued on or after 1 April 2024.
