Job Vacancy Overview

UNIVERSITY OF JAMMU (NAAC Accredited ‘A++’ Grade University) – ENGAGEMENT OF TEACHING FACULTY FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 2026-27. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for engagement as Assistant Professors on purely temporary and need basis on a consolidated salary as per University norms for the Academic Session 2026–27 across various subjects and campuses.

Eligibility Criteria & Salary Structure

General Qualifications: Good Academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) at the Master’s Degree level in concerned/relevant subject from an Indian/foreign University. Relaxation of 5% is applicable for SC/ST/Differently-abled candidates. Candidate must have cleared NET/SLET/SET or hold a Ph.D. Degree awarded as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016.

UIET Engineering Disciplines: BE/B.Tech & ME/M.Tech in relevant branch with 1st Class or equivalent either in BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech.

Selection Criteria & Evaluation Score

Screening and merit evaluation of candidates will be conducted out of a total Academic & Research Score of 100 Points:

Academic Score: Maximum 80 Marks (Graduation: Max 15; Post-Graduation: Max 25; M.Phil: Max 07; Ph.D.: 30; NET with JRF: 07 / NET: 05 / SET: 03; Awards: Max 03).
Research Publications: Maximum 10 Marks (2 marks per paper in Peer-Reviewed/UGC-listed journals).
Teaching / Post-Doctoral Experience: Maximum 10 Marks (2 marks per year).

APPLICATION PROCEDURE & SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

1. Candidates must submit duly filled application forms on the prescribed format along with self-attested documents and photograph to the respective Department/Campus/School/Directorate ONLY before 31-07-2026.

2. For Integrated UG-PG Programme (Sr. No. 1): Submit to the Office of the Dean Academic Affairs, First Floor, Old Administration Block-II, University of Jammu, Jammu – 180006.

3. For Other Positions (Sr. No. 2): Submit to the Office of the concerned HOD/Rector/Director/Principal/Coordinator.

4. Mode of Submission: Either by Hand (under proper receipt) or by Registered Post / Courier.
