Applications are invited form the eligible candidates for the position of JRF (1) in DST-SHRI funded research project titled: “Promotion of Endangered Dialects of Erstwhile Doda District with the Help of AI based Approaches.”

Name of the Positions : Junior Research Fellow (JRF) 01 (ONE)
Tenure of the Project : 03 years (Initial appointment is for 01 year which is extendable upto the project duration based on the progress of the candidate)

Qualifications : Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
Essential : Master’s Degree in English with atleast 55% marks and NET/SLET qualified. OR Master’s Degree in Sociology with atleast 55% marks, NET/SLET Qualified, and experience in sociolinguistic research/work relating to the dialects, language communities, or cultural practices of the erstwhile Doda District.

योग्यता : जूनियर रिसर्च फेलो (JRF):

Desirable: Experience in phonetic transcription, Ability to record, classify, and transcribe oral data from local speakers; Experience in Dialect documentation; Must be familiar with Pahari Dialects; Should be comfortable in living in and visiting remote areas for field work; Competent in creating audio-visual archives; Familiarity with ELAN, PRAAT, or other annotation tools is a plus.

वांछनीय : ध्वन्यात्मक प्रतिलेखन (phonetic transcription) में अनुभव, स्थानीय वक्ताओं से मौखिक डेटा को रिकॉर्ड, वर्गीकृत और प्रतिलेखित करने की क्षमता; बोली प्रलेखन (Dialect documentation) में अनुभव; पहाड़ी बोलियों से परिचित होना चाहिए; फील्ड वर्क के लिए दूरदराज के क्षेत्रों में रहने और जाने में सहज होना चाहिए; दृश्य-श्रव्य अभिलेखागार (audio-visual archives) बनाने में सक्षम; ELAN, PRAAT, या अन्य एनोटेशन टूल से परिचित होना एक अतिरिक्त लाभ है।

Age Limit: Upper age limit is 28 years as on the day of the applications are received (5 years age relaxation for candidates belonging to SC/ST/ Physically Handicapped/ OBC categories).
