School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu (NAAC Accredited A++ Grade University), has issued an advertisement notice for recruitment to various project-based positions.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for positions under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India funded research project entitled, “Devising a platform for CRISPR-Cas9 mediated manipulation of apocarotenoid pathway in Saffron”. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.

स्कूल ऑफ बायोटेक्नोलॉजी, जम्मू विश्वविद्यालय (NAAC मान्यता प्राप्त A++ ग्रेड विश्वविद्यालय) ने विभिन्न परियोजना-आधारित पदों पर भर्ती के लिए एक विज्ञापन नोटिस जारी किया है। जैव प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग (DBT), भारत सरकार द्वारा वित्त पोषित अनुसंधान परियोजना, जिसका शीर्षक “Devising a platform for CRISPR-Cas9 mediated manipulation of apocarotenoid pathway in Saffron” है, के तहत पदों के लिए पात्र उम्मीदवारों से आवेदन आमंत्रित किए जाते हैं। ये पद पूरी तरह से अस्थायी हैं और परियोजना के साथ समाप्त होने वाले हैं।

Departments and their agencies and Institutions. ii) Rs. 28,000 + 18% HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

Qualifications Breakdown:
1. Senior Project Associate:
Essential Qualification: i) Master’s Degree in Biotechnology from a recognised University or equivalent, and ii) Four years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations OR Ph.D in Biotechnology from a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable Qualification: Experience in CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing, plant molecular biology, secondary metabolite pathway analysis, plant tissue culture.

1. सीनियर प्रोजेक्ट एसोसिएट: अनिवार्य योग्यता: i) किसी मान्यता प्राप्त विश्वविद्यालय या समकक्ष से बायोटेक्नोलॉजी में मास्टर डिग्री, और ii) औद्योगिक और शैक्षणिक संस्थानों या विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी संगठनों में अनुसंधान और विकास में चार साल का अनुभव या किसी मान्यता प्राप्त विश्वविद्यालय या समकक्ष से बायोटेक्नोलॉजी में पीएचडी। वांछनीय योग्यता: CRISPR-Cas9 जीनोम एडिटिंग, प्लांट मॉलिक्यूलर बायोलॉजी, सेकेंडरी मेटाबोलाइट पाथवे एनालिसिस, प्लांट टिश्यू कल्चर में अनुभव।

2. Project Associate-II:
Essential Qualification: i) Master’s Degree in Biotechnology/ Botany/ Biochemistry/Microbiology/ from a recognized University or equivalent, and ii) 2 years’ experience in Research and Development in Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in molecular biology, gene editing, plant tissue culture or related techniques. NET/GATE qualified candidates will be preferred.

2. प्रोजेक्ट एसोसिएट-II: अनिवार्य योग्यता: i) किसी मान्यता प्राप्त विश्वविद्यालय या समकक्ष से बायोटेक्नोलॉजी/वनस्पति विज्ञान/बायोकैमिस्ट्री/माइक्रोबायोलॉजी में मास्टर डिग्री, और ii) शैक्षणिक संस्थानों या विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी संगठनों में अनुसंधान और विकास में 2 साल का अनुभव। वांछनीय योग्यता: मॉलिक्यूलर बायोलॉजी, जीन एडिटिंग, प्लांट टिश्यू कल्चर या संबंधित तकनीकों में अनुभव। NET/GATE योग्य उम्मीदवारों को प्राथमिकता दी जाएगी।

3. Project Assistant:
Essential Qualification: B.Sc. with Biology/Botany/Biotechnology as Major subjects.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in laboratory work, field sample collection, handling instruments. Willing to travel for sample collection.

3. प्रोजेक्ट असिस्टेंट: अनिवार्य योग्यता: प्रमुख विषयों के रूप में जीव विज्ञान/वनस्पति विज्ञान/बायोटेक्नोलॉजी के साथ बी.एससी.। वांछनीय योग्यता: प्रयोगशाला के काम, क्षेत्र के नमूने एकत्र करने, उपकरणों को संभालने का अनुभव। नमूना संग्रह के लिए यात्रा करने का इच्छुक।

Project Tenure & Interview Guidance:
The positions are initially for a period of one year and further extendible based on the progress of the candidate and are co-terminus with the project whichever is earlier.

Eligible candidates will be informed about the date of interview via email/mobile no. All applicants are required to bring their original documents on the date of interview. No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the interview.
