ENGAGEMENT OF TEACHING FACULTY (ASSISTANT PROFESSORS) FOR ACADEMIC SESSION 2026-27

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for engagement as Assistant Professors on purely temporary and need basis on a consolidated salary as per University norms for the Academic Session 2026-27.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA / पात्रता मानदंड:

• Master’s Degree in concerned/relevant subject with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade). Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/Differently-abled candidates.

• Minimum qualification: Cleared UGC NET / CSIR NET / SLET / SET.

• Candidates awarded Ph.D. degree as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016 are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

SELECTION SCORE WEIGHTAGE (MAX 100 MARKS):

• Academic Record (Graduation, Post-Graduation, M.Phil, Ph.D, NET/JRF/SET): Max 80 Marks

• Research Publications (2 marks per paper in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals): Max 10 Marks

• Teaching / Post-Doctoral Experience (2 marks per year): Max 10 Marks

CONSOLIDATED MONTHLY SALARY / समेकित मासिक वेतन:

• Candidate with Ph.D + NET or SET: ₹45,000/- per month

• Candidate with Ph.D only: ₹40,000/- per month

• Candidate with NET or SET only: ₹40,000/- per month

• Candidate with M.Tech + Ph.D: ₹45,000/- per month

• Candidate with M.Tech only: ₹40,000/- per month

1. For Newly Introduced Integrated UG-PG Programme (Sr. No. 1): Submit application by hand or registered post to Office of the Dean Academic Affairs, First Floor, Old Administration Block-II, University of Jammu, Jammu – 180006.

2. For Other Subjects (Sr. No. 2 Main & Offsite Campuses): Submit application to the Office of the concerned Head of Department (HOD) / Rector / Director / Principal / Coordinator.

Separate application forms must be submitted for each subject or department if applying to multiple posts.
