About The University of Melbourne & School of Computing and Information Systems:
The University of Melbourne (UoM) is the highest ranked university of Australia. According to the current QS World University Rankings, it is ranked 14th in the world. Times Higher Education and ARWU rankings also place it in the top 35 universities around the globe.
Successful candidates will pursue PhD at the School of Computing and Information Systems (CIS). According to QS ranking, UoM is also ranked 1 in Australia in Computer Science and Information Systems, and CIS is renowned for providing outstanding research environment in computer science. For the available scholarships, top quality candidates are sought.
About the candidates:
Should have completed Master level degree from a reputed institute.
-Should have outstanding grades (e.g., 3.9+/4.0) in both Bachelor and Master degrees, – Should have taken units/courses on computer vision/machine learning in previous studies.
Preference will be given to the candidates with
Strong programming skills and/or
o Publications in reputed computer vision conferences, e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV and/or o Demonstrable experience with deep learning programming frameworks, e.g., Pytorch, Tensorflow.
– If you have professional experience with deep learning which has resulted in excellent programming skills in Pytorch, Tensorflow, CUDA etc., and you have good grades (e.g. 3.5+/4.0), you are encouraged to enquire.
