    Qualifications

    In order to be eligible for employment as a doctoral student, the applicant must have obtained a master’s degree in a field relevant to the project, such as pharmacy, chemical engineering, chemistry or physics, and have a good command of spoken and written English. Knowledge in Swedish is an asset, as some teaching is done in Swedish.

    Personal suitability, motivation and interest in and experience of research in a relevant field are meritorious.     Selection of candidates is made by the supervisors in consultation with the department’s group for postgraduate studies. The PhD student will be formally accepted by the Research Training Committee at the Disciplinary Domain of Medicine and Pharmacy and salary placement is done according to local guidelines at Uppsala University.

    The holder of a PhD-student position shall primarily devote her or his time to own research studies. Other departmental work, such as educational or administrative duties, can be part of the position (max 20%).

    3.  a brief description of your education,
    4.  a copy of your master’s degree and your course grades, along with a copy of your master’s thesis,

    GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: HOW TO APPLY: (1) Candidates may visit the Institute’s website www.del.ac.in and submit online application. On successful submission, the applicant will come across a link for paying application registration fees and after the payment of fees the candidate may download a ‘PDF of the

    Original documents will have to be produced at the time of Seminar-cum-Presentation/ Interview for verification falling which the candidate would not be allowed to appear in the Seminar-cum-Presentation/Interview (2) The National Eligibility Test (NET) or an accredited test (State Level Eligibility Test SLET/SET) shall remain the minimum eligibility for appointment of Assistant Professor and equivalent positions wherever provided in UGC Regulations 2018.

    Further, SLET/ SET shall be valid as the minimum eligibility for direct recruitment to Universities/Colleges/Institutions in the respective State only: Provided that candidates have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the “University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree),

    Regulation 2009, or the University Grants Commission (minimum standards and Procedure for award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2016, and their subsequent amendments from time to time, as the case may be, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or any equivalent positions.

    Provided further, the award of degree to candidates registered for the M.Phil. /Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances By-laws/Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree.

    All such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions: (a.) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only. (b.) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners. (c) Open Ph.D. viva-voce of the candidate had been conducted.

    (d) The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a refereed journal. (e) The candidate has presented at least two papers, based on his/her Ph.D. work in conference/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ACSSR/CSIR or any similar agency.

    Note-1: The fulfilment of these conditions should be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affair) of the University concerned. Note-2:

    The clearing of NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for candidates in such disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted. (3) A minimum of 55% marks for an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grade system is followed) at the master’s level shall be the essential qualification for direct recruitment of teachers and other equivalent cadres at any level.

    (4) Arelaxation of 5% shall be allowed at the Bachelor’s as well as at the Master’s level for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribel Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-creamy Layer)/ Differently-abled (a) Blindness and low vision; (b) Deaf and Hard of Hearing; (c) Locomotor disability Including cerebral palsy leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid-attack victims and muscular dystrophy,

    (d) Autism, intellectual disability, specific leaming disability and mental illness; (e) Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under (a) to (d) including deaf blindness for the purpose of eligibility and assessing good academic record for direct rechiitment.

    The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and the nelaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based only on the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedure.

    (5) A relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55%, wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized University, at the Master’s level shall also be considered valid. (6) A relaxation of 5% shall be provided, (from 55% to 50% of the marks) to the Ph.D.

    Degree holders who have obtained their master’s degree prior to 19 September 1991.

    (7) Applicants who have been awarded Ph. D. from foreign Universities should enclose “Equivalence Certificate issued by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, without which their candidature will not be considered, and application will summarily be rejected. (8)

    The time taken by candidates to acquire M.Phil. Andior Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as teaching/research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions. Further the period of active service spent on pursuing Research Degree simultaneously with teaching assignment without taking any kind of leave, shall be counted as teaching experience for the purpose of direct recruitment. (9)

    Before applying for a post, applicants are advised to go through the relevant UGC/NCTE norms/regulations as amended from time to time and as applicable, as well as contents of the advertisement carefully and satisfy themselves about their eligibility.

    No enquiry in this regard will be entertained. (10) Relaxations and concessions for SC/ST/OBC/PwDs/EWS will be applicable in accordance with reservation policy of the Gol/UGC/UP State and subsequent clarification/directives issued from time to time to this effect

    (11) The eligibility of an applicant shall be determined in accordance with the UGC Regulations, 2018 and its subsequent amendments and/or in accordance with the relevant regulations of concerned Regulatory bodies. (12) Candidates are called for Seminar-cum-Presentation/Interview on the recommendations of the Screening Committee of the Institute constituted for the purpose and as such all applicants may not be called for Seminar-cum Presentation/interview.

    No TA and DA shall be admissible for attending the Seminar-cum-Presentation/Interview. (13) The Institute shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate at the time of appointment or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the candidates are fake or the candidates has a clandestine

    antecedent/ background and has suppressed the information, then his/her services shall be terminated.
