ADVERTISEMENT NOTICE

Applications through online filling of Google form (https://forms.gle/FsR82wncp6yQGqqr6) are invited from the eligible and motivated candidates for two positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) initially for one year and extendable by another two years subjected to performance of the JRF and the release of the funds from the funding agency to work in the project titled

“Emerging Contaminants in Himalavan Catchments: Sources, distribution, fate of transport, and management” sanctioned by National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS), in favour of Dr. Sami Ullah Bhat (Principal Investigator), Coordinator, Department of Environmental Science), Prof Mohd Sultan Bhat (Co-PI, Department of Geography and Disaster Management),

Prof. Gh. Jeelani (Co-PI, Department of Earth Science) and Dr Irfan Rashid (Co-PI, Department of Geoinformatics). The position is temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Essential qualification

PG in Environmental Science + NET/GATE

Desirable qualification

Candidates having working experience in the field of microplastic/ water pollution

Essential qualification

PG in Geoinformatics/Applied Geology/Geography + NET/GATE

Desirable qualification

Candidates having working experience in the field of Glaciology/Hydrology

Note:

1. The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of the information and documents submitted.

. Mere possession of the prescribed qualification does not ensure that the candidate will be selected. The Candidate will be selected on the 2

basis of merit, performance in the interview and knowledge related to work elements of the project.

3. The project involves extensive field sampling in Ladakh Himalaya and laboratory analysis both in the University of Kashmir and outside.

4. TA/DA is not admissible for appearing in the interview.

5. The interview will preferably be held offline, and under certain circumstances online interview can be held at the request of the candidate/s providing reasonable justification for the same.
