ADVERTISEMENT NOTICE. Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for engagement as Assistant Professors/Assistant Lecturers on Academic Arrangement (AA) on need basis in the Government College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu, for the academic session 2026-27 in the following Streams/disciplines: –

S. No. 1 E&C Engineering, 2 Computer Engineering, 3 Mechanical Engineering, 4 Civil Engineering, 5 Electrical Engineering, 6 Training and Placement (T&P), 7 Humanities, 8 Mathematics.

विज्ञापन सूचना। शैक्षणिक सत्र 2026-27 के लिए राजकीय इंजीनियरिंग और प्रौद्योगिकी कॉलेज, जम्मू में आवश्यकता के आधार पर शैक्षणिक व्यवस्था (एए) पर सहायक प्रोफेसरों/सहायक व्याख्याताओं के रूप में नियुक्ति के लिए पात्र उम्मीदवारों से निम्नलिखित धाराओं/विषयों में आवेदन आमंत्रित किए जाते हैं: – क्रम संख्या

1 ईएंडसी इंजीनियरिंग, 2 कंप्यूटर इंजीनियरिंग, 3 मैकेनिकल इंजीनियरिंग, 4 सिविल इंजीनियरिंग, 5 इलेक्ट्रिकल इंजीनियरिंग, 6 प्रशिक्षण और प्लेसमेंट (टीएंडपी), 7 मानविकी, 8 गणित।

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR VARIOUS CATEGORIES: –
a) Assistant Professors (AA): Engineering
The candidates must possess B.E/B.Tech and Master’s degree in relevant branch with first class or equivalent either in B.E/B.Tech or Master’s Degree. Desirable: Ph.D in the concerned subject.

b) Assistant Professor (AA): T&P
The candidates must possess B.E/B.Tech and Master’s degree in relevant branch (viz. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering) with first class or equivalent either in B.E/B.Tech or Master’s Degree.

Desirable: Minimum two year’s Experience as Training and Placement Officer/Liaison Officer in any Private/ Govt. organization. However, preference shall be given to a candidate having experience in Human Resource Management/ Personnel Management in reputed industries.

विभिन्न श्रेणियों के लिए पात्रता शर्तें: –
क) सहायक प्रोफेसर (एए): इंजीनियरिंग – उम्मीदवारों के पास बी.ई/बी.टेक और संबंधित शाखा में प्रथम श्रेणी या समकक्ष के साथ मास्टर डिग्री होनी चाहिए। वांछनीय: संबंधित विषय में पीएच.डी।

ख) सहायक प्रोफेसर (एए): टीएंडपी – उम्मीदवारों के पास संबंधित शाखा में बी.ई/बी.टेक और मास्टर डिग्री होनी चाहिए जिसमें प्रथम श्रेणी या समकक्ष हो। वांछनीय: किसी निजी या सरकारी संगठन में प्रशिक्षण और प्लेसमेंट अधिकारी के रूप में न्यूनतम दो वर्ष का अनुभव।

c) Assistant Professors (AA): (Mathematics and Humanities-Management)
The candidates must possess Master’s degree in the relevant subject or its equivalent degree in a grade point scale wherever grading system is followed, duly certified/notified by the concerned university with minimum 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ differently abled) along with NET/SLET/SET conducted by the UGC /CSIR/Association of University (AIU) or Ph.D in the relevant subject.

In case the Ph.D/NET/SLET/SET candidates are not available, the following teaching faculty may be engaged purely on need basis:

d) Assistant Lecturers (AA): (Mathematics and Humanities-Management)
The candidates must possess Master’s degree in the relevant subject or its equivalent degree in a grade point scale wherever grading system is followed, duly certified/notified by the concerned university with minimum 55% marks (50% in case of SC / ST / differently abled).

ग) सहायक प्रोफेसर (एए): (गणित और मानविकी-प्रबंधन) – उम्मीदवारों के पास संबंधित विषय में न्यूनतम 55% अंकों के साथ मास्टर डिग्री होनी चाहिए और साथ ही यूजीसी/सीएसआईआर द्वारा आयोजित नेट/स्लेट/सेट या संबंधित विषय में पीएच.डी होनी चाहिए। यदि पात्र उम्मीदवार उपलब्ध नहीं हैं, तो सहायक व्याख्याताओं को विशुद्ध रूप से आवश्यकता के आधार पर नियुक्त किया जा सकता है।

SELECTION PROCESS
The Principal, Govt. College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu shall arrange and conduct a written/screening test for all the eligible candidates, if required. However, the candidates with NET/SLET/SET/Ph.D are exempted from written/screening test.

The selection of the candidates shall be made by the Selection Committee strictly on the basis of merit list to be prepared. The applicants are advised to keep in touch with the office of the Registrar, GCET, Jammu, for further information.

चयन प्रक्रिया: प्राचार्य, राजकीय इंजीनियरिंग और प्रौद्योगिकी कॉलेज, जम्मू यदि आवश्यक हो तो सभी पात्र उम्मीदवारों के लिए एक लिखित/स्क्रीनिंग परीक्षा आयोजित करेंगे। नेट/स्लेट/सेट/पीएच.डी वाले उम्मीदवारों को परीक्षा से छूट दी गई है।

SELECTION CRITERIA
The selection criteria for Non-Engineering Streams will be as per the Govt. Order No. 137-JK (HE) of 2024 dated 01.03.2024. The selection criteria for Engineering Streams will be as per the following breakup:-

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The engagement of candidates shall be made as per the Govt. Order No. 137-JK (HE) of 2024 dated 01.03.2024 and amendment, if any issued thereof:-

A. The candidates engaged on academic arrangement on need basis must be a domicile of Jammu & Kashmir (U.T).
B. The engagement of candidate will be made for one Academic Session or till the post is filled by appointment of candidate duly selected by the J&K Public Service Commission or by posting of regular faculty against the post occupied by an Academic Arrangement candidate, whichever is earlier.
C. The candidates engaged on Academic Arrangement shall have to: –

i. Maintain proper discipline, integrity and good moral character during the period of engagement and not act in a manner, unbecoming of a Govt. Servant. Any indiscipline shall make the candidate liable for disengagement.
ii. Maintain punctuality and work to the satisfaction of the standards set by the Head of Institute and various performance indices.
iii. Produce a certificate of good moral character from a Gazetted Officer.

iv. The engagement made under the guidelines shall be deemed to have been terminated on the last date of academic session without any notice in this behalf.
v. Furnish an Affidavit on a Non judicial stamp paper of Rs. 20/- duly attested by 1st Class Judicial Magistrate to the effect that he/she has accepted the terms and conditions as detailed in this notification and shall have no preferential claim for regular appointment or for regularization of the academic arrangement made under this advertisement.

vi. In the event of any information being found false, incomplete, incorrect, forged, tampered, the candidature of the applicant will be cancelled without any notice thereof. Further, misleading information shall also warrant necessary legal action.
vii. The candidate having marks in CGPA shall provide a conversion certificate (from CGPA to percentage) from the concerned university.

viii. The engagement of the candidates shall be subject to outcome of the Court cases if any on the subject pending disposal in any Court of Law.
ix. The remuneration shall be paid as per the Govt. Order in vogue.
