Anusandhan National Research Foundation ANRF Ramanujan Fellowship opportunities 2026

The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) is inviting applications for the Ramanujan Fellowship 2025–26. The Ramanujan Fellowship is a prestigious research fellowship for Indian and Indian-origin scientists and engineers currently working abroad.

The fellowship is scientist -specific and for those scientists/engineers who want to return to India from abroad. The fellowship is offered across all areas of science and engineering.

Selected fellows will get a fellowship of ₹1.35 lakh every month, along with an annual research grant of ₹7 lakh for a non-extendable period of five years.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfil the following conditions:

• Must be an Indian or Indian-origin scientist/engineer.
• Age should be below 40 years.
• The Nominee should possess a higher degree or equivalent, such as a PhD in Science/Engineering, Masters in Engineering or Technology/MD in Medicine, etc.
• The applicant must have published research papers.
• Must not hold any permanent, tenure-track, or contractual position in any Indian institution.
• The Nominee should be working abroad at the time of nomination.

Duration of Fellowship

• 5 years
• Non-extendable

Financial Support & Benefits

Selected fellows will get a fellowship of ₹1.35 lakh every month, along with an annual research grant of ₹7 lakh for a non-extendable period of five years.

Joining & Fellowship Start

• The acceptance letter will be sent through the host institute
• The Selected candidates must join within 6 months
