scholarship notification from the Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education invites online applications for the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Yojana – Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students (PM-USP CSSS).
Key Details of the Scholarship Notification:
Purpose: Provides financial assistance to meritorious students from economically weaker sections for pursuing higher education (Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees).
Eligibility Criteria:
Passed Higher Secondary Examination (Class 12th) from JKBOSE (Jammu & Ladakh Hard Zone & Soft Zone) in the Annual, Regular 2025 Session and falling within the Top 20 percentile.
Gross parental/family income up to Rs. 4.5 Lakh per annum (income certificate required for fresh applicants).
Should not be availing any other scholarship from any source.
Must be pursuing regular undergraduate courses in any stream from a recognized institution within or outside J&K/Ladakh.
Scholarship Amount:
Rs. 12,000/- per annum for Undergraduate courses (total Rs. 36,000/- for three years).
Rs. 20,000/- per annum during Post Graduate courses.
Application Process:
Apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (http://scholarships.gov.in) by or before October 31, 2025.
Applications will be validated/e-validated online by the respective University/College/Institutions.
Renewal: Candidates from previous batches (1st Renewal of Batch 2024, 2nd Renewal of Batch 2023, and 3rd Renewal of Batch 2022) who are already receiving CSSS can also apply online for their respective renewal installments on the National Scholarship Portal by the same deadline.
