Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) Walk-In Interview for Junior Research Fellows (JRF) & Research Associate (RA) Positions
Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR) is a frontier institute of Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) that endeavors at providing nutrition, health and energy security for the troops through development of cold arid agro-animal technologies in Trans Himalayan region. DIHAR has its HQ at Leh, UT (Ladakh) and Base Station at UT Chandigarh. Vacancies:
Applications are invited from candidates to work in defence related research projects of DIHAR for the following posts:

M.Tech (Mechanical Engg/Instrumentation Engg/Instrumentation & Control Engg)
* 01 post – M.Tech (Mechanical Engg)
* 01 post – B.E/B.Tech (Mechanical/Electrical)
01 post M.Tech in Agriculture Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Civil Engineering
02 posts M.Sc./M.Tech/M.V.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering/Electronics and Instrumentation/Biophysics/Animal Physiology/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Industrial Microbiology/ Chemistry/Material Science/Environmental Science
02 posts- M.Tech/M.Sc in Biotechnology
* 01 post M.Sc in Zoology/Entomology/Plant Pathology/
Environmental Sciences
02 posts M.Sc Horticulture/Agriculture/Environmental Sciences
* 01 post – M.Sc in Horticulture/Botany
Essential Qualification:-
M.Sc./M.V.Sc in first division with NET qualification “or”
B.E/B.Tech in first division with NET/GATE qualification “or” M.Tech in first division at both Graduate and Post-graduate level
Note:-
The candidate may be allowed to register for Ph.D during their tenure of fellowship
* The candidates will not be considered for Ph.D registration during their tenure of fellowship.

Vacancies:

Qualifications: 01 post-Ph.D or M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering/
Civil Engineering
01 post – ME/M.Tech (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics)
01 post – Ph.D in Horticulture/Botany
01 post- Ph.D in Biophysics/Animal Physiology/Medical Bioche-mistry/Veterinary Sciences/Animal Sciences
Essential Qualification:-
Ph.D/M.E/M.Tech with atleast one research paper in SCI journal
Notes:-
1. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D thesis may also apply. However, if selected, such candidates shall be awarded the Research Associateship only after award of degree / provisional certificate.
Upper Age Limit: 28 years and 35 years for JRF and RA
and 35 respectively as on date of walk-in-interview. Relaxable for SC, ST & OBC candidates as per Gol orders.
Stipend (monthly) and tenure of fellowship:
(a) JRF: A stipend of Rs. (37,000/- + HRA) per month for an initial period of two years and performance based extension / upgradation as per DRDO guidelines subject to a maximum total period of 5 years.
(b) RA: A stipend of Rs. (67,000/- + HRA) per month for a maximum period of two years.
Selection Procedure: Desirable candidates shall report by 1000
hours on 28 Aug 2025 (Thursday) for walk-in interview at DIHAR Base Lab, Near 3 BRD, Industrial Area Phase-II, Chandigarh 160002.
Candidates shall bring the following:-
1. Certificates wrt DoB and Essential qualification in original along with a self-attested copy of each.
2. Neatly typed Bio-data.
3. Documents in support of preferential experience wrt RA Post if applicable.
Initially, the candidates shall be screened wrt qualification etc.
Those candidates who are screened-in shall face interview on the same day.
General Conditions:
1. Fellowship / Associateship shall be Governed as per policy and rules in vogue in DRDO, MoD, Gol.
2. The offer of Fellowship / Associateship shall not confer on the candidates any right for absorption in DRDO.
3. No TA / DA will be paid for attending the interview or for joining, if selected.

5. Candidates working in Govt / Public Sector Undertakings /
Autonomous Bodies should bring NoC from their present employer on the date of interview. If selected, such candidates shall be required to submit relieving order from their employer before joining.
6. The posts advertised are for R&D project related studies. Only those who are medically fit and willing to work in environmental conditions of high altitude region may apply.
7. Grant of fellowship / associateship shall be entirely at the discretion of DIHAR. The Institute may refuse to admit any candidate without assigning any reason thereof.
8. Number of seats may increase or decrease without prior notice.
