WALK-IN-INTERVIEW FOR JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWS (JRF) & RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (RA) POSITIONS

Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR) is a frontier institute of Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) working on trials, testing, and high-altitude technologies. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for a walk-in-interview for the following posts:

		03 posts	M.Sc/M.Tech/M.V.Sc in Biomedical Engineering / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Life Science / Animal Physiology / Dairy Technology / Environmental Science
		02 posts	M.Sc/M.Tech in Biotechnology
		01 post	M.Sc in Zoology / Entomology / Plant Pathology / Agriculture Science / Botany
		03 posts	M.Sc in Botany / Horticulture / Agriculture Science / Environmental Science
			Essential Qualifications:
			M.Sc/M.E/M.Tech with NET qualification or
			B.E/B.Tech in first division with NET/GATE qualification or
			M.V.Sc in first division at both graduate and post-graduate levels
			Note: Eligible selected candidates will enroll for Ph.D during their tenure of fellowship.
2.	RA	Three (03)
		01 post	Ph.D in Biotechnology / Life Science / Environmental Science
		01 post	Ph.D in Biophysics / Animal Physiology / Medical Sciences / Biochemistry / Dairy Science / Animal Sciences
			Essential Qualifications:
			Ph.D with at least one research paper in an SCI journal.
			Notes:
			1. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D thesis may also apply. However, if selected, they will be awarded the Research Associateship only after the award of the degree/provisional certificate.

Upper Age Limit:

JRF: 28 years
RA: 35 years
(as on the date of walk-in-interview, relaxable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Govt. rules)

Stipend (Monthly) and Tenure of Fellowship:

JRF: ₹37,000/- + HRA per month for an initial period of two years, with performance-based upgradation to SRF (maximum total period of 5 years).
RA: ₹67,000/- + HRA per month for a maximum period of two years.

Selection Procedure:

Desirable candidates shall report by 09:30 AM on 05 Dec 2025 (Friday) for walk-in-interview at:

Candidates must bring:

Certificates with Date of Birth and Essential Qualification (original + self-attested copy).
Duly typed bio-data.
Documents in support of experience for RA posts (if applicable).

Candidates will be screened initially based on qualifications, and those found eligible will face interview on the same day.

General Conditions:

Research fellowship shall be governed as per policy/rules in vogue in DRDO, MOD, GOI.
The offer of Fellowship/Associateship shall not confer any right for absorption in DRDO.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or joining (if selected).

The posts are for DRDO-DIHAR R&D activities, and only medically fit candidates willing to work in high-altitude environmental conditions may apply.
Decision of Director, DIHAR shall be final.
Number of seats may increase or decrease without prior notice.
