WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

Eligible candidates are invited to attend the Walk-In-Interview on 05 January 2026 at ICAR–Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (ICAR-CITH), Srinagar for filling up the temporary position of Young Professional-II (YP-II) on a purely contractual basis.

The engagement will be initially for a period of one (01) year or till sanction of the project and availability of funds, whichever is earlier. The contract may be extended further based on satisfactory performance of the candidate and availability of funds from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi.

Candidates fulfilling the requisite qualifications should bring a neatly typed brief bio-data, experience certificates, and original as well as self-attested photocopies of all qualification certificates, along with passport-size photographs for verification and submission.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION

M.Sc. in any one of the following disciplines:
• Genetics & Plant Breeding
• Horticulture
• Plant Biotechnology
• Botany
• Plant Pathology
• Plant Biochemistry

Desirable Qualification:
• Experience in DUS testing

EMOLUMENTS

Rs. 42,000/- per month (Rupees Forty-Two Thousand Only)

SELECTION PROCESS

• Essential Qualification – 50 Marks
• Ph.D. – 05 Marks
• Experience – 10 Marks (02 Marks for each completed year)
• Publications – 10 Marks
• Awards – 05 Marks
• Personal Interview – 20 Marks

IMPORTANT NOTES

• Maximum age limit: 21 to 45 years (age relaxation as per Government of India rules).
• Young Professional-II is entitled to Casual Leave (CL) and Restricted Holidays (RH) as per GOI/ICAR norms.
• Selected candidates will be paid emoluments as per GOI/ICAR rules.
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) is mandatory if the candidate is employed.
• Engagement is purely contractual and need-based; services may be discontinued at any time.

• Initial engagement will be for one (01) year only.
• Appointment is full-time; no other assignment is permitted during the engagement period.
• The position is temporary; no claim for regular appointment shall be entertained.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-In-Interview.
• The Director, ICAR-CITH, Srinagar reserves the right to terminate services without notice.
• Candidates must bring original certificates along with one set of self-attested copies of mark sheets, publications, experience certificates, and other relevant documents.
• The selected candidate must give two (02) months’ prior notice before leaving the engagement and submit a complete report to the satisfaction of the Principal Investigator.
