Emplacement of advocates as Special Public Prosecutor of Income Tax Department in Srinagar & Jammu

In continuation of the advertisement dated 08.08.2025 on the above subject, applications are invited by Pr. Commissioner of Income Tax, Srinagar from practicing advocates enrolled as members of State Bar Council with good academic antecedents and experience in criminal matters for engagement as Special Public Prosecutors (SPPs) to represent the Income Tax Department before the Session Court/Subordinate Courts in theJammu &Kashmir region in prosecution cases.

Preference would be given to advocates having prior experience in dealing with Income Tax/Direct Tax matters.

The eligibility terms and conditions and schedule of fees payable to the SPPs are as per instructions No. 02/2023 dated 30.11.2023 issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), Central Board of Direct Taxes, New Delhi and such other instructions as may be issued from time to time in this behalf.

The details of requirements for SPP area wise is as detailed under:

Special Prosecution To represent the in department prosecution / Criminal cases
Counsels relating to violation of Income Tax Act, 1961 before the session court and its
for PCTI, Srinagar Charge subordinate courts in the Jammu& Kashmir Region at Jammu, Srinagar, Samba,
Ganderbal, Budgam, Udhampur and Kathua.

Desirous and eligible advocate should send the completed applications from in Proforma-PI of the instruction No. 02/2023 mentioned above along-with the necessary documentary evidences, and specification of area for which empanelment is being sought, to the ITO (Hq.)(Admn.), O/o Pr. CTI, Srinagar, First Floor, Room No. 113, Aayakar Bhawan, “The Chinars”, Near Govt. Silk Factory, Ra-jbagh, Srinagar latest by 22.09.2025.

The applicants who have already submitted their applications in response to the advertisement published on 08.08.2025 are not required to file afresh, as the application submitted previously shall be considered.
