Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualifications
As of August 31, 2026, candidates must be between 18 and 24 years of age. Upper age relaxation is applicable as per government norms: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL, and up to 10–15 years for PwBD candidates. Educational qualifications must be pursued as full-time regular courses:
• Trade Apprentices (Fitter, Electrician, Electronics/Instrument Mechanic, Machinist): Matric with 2-year full-time regular ITI course recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
• Technician Apprentices (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics): 3-year full-time Diploma in relevant engineering stream with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
• Graduate Apprentices: Full-time regular Graduate degree (BBA/BA/B.Com/B.Sc.) with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).
• Trade Apprentice (Data Entry Operator – Fresher/Skilled): Class 12th pass (below graduate); Skill Certificate Holders must possess a valid ‘Domestic Data Entry Operator’ skill certificate.

Stipend Structure & Allowances
The training duration for all disciplines is 12 months. Stipend rates align with the Apprentices Act, 1961, Apprentices Rules, 1992, and government guidelines. In addition to the statutory stipend, apprentices will receive ₹2,500 per month towards miscellaneous expenses paid by IOCL (MD), Northern Region. For Graduate and Technician Apprentices, a portion of the stipend is disbursed directly via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) through the BOAT/NATS portal. Candidates must ensure they have an active, Aadhaar-seeded, DBT-enabled bank account.

Selection Process & Verification Guidelines
Selection is strictly merit-based, determined by the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed educational qualification. There is NO written test or personal interview. In case of a tie in percentage, preference is given to the older candidate; if dates of birth match, matriculation marks determine merit. Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification and pre-engagement medical fitness tests. Up to ₹3,000 will be reimbursed towards medical investigation expenses upon presenting receipts.
