Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC), Solina Srinagar / Resham Ghar Colony Jammu, has issued notification for filling up of posts of Assistant Professor and Librarian (GCET) (backlog vacancies) in the Higher Education Department, Jammu & Kashmir.
Online applications are invited from domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir possessing the prescribed Academic/Professional qualification and age, under Notification No: 07 – PSC (DR-P) OF 2026 Dated: 31-07-2026. Reference Higher Education Department No. HED-GAZ/85/2022-04(157353) dated 01.06.2026.
जम्मू और कश्मीर लोक सेवा आयोग (JKPSC), सोलिना श्रीनगर / रेशम घर कॉलोनी जम्मू ने उच्च शिक्षा विभाग, जम्मू और कश्मीर में गवर्नमेंट कॉलेज ऑफ इंजीनियरिंग एंड टेक्नोलॉजी (GCET) में सहायक प्रोफेसर और पुस्तकालयाध्यक्ष (बैकलॉग रिक्तियों) के पदों को भरने के लिए अधिसूचना जारी की है।
अधिसूचना संख्या: 07 – PSC (DR-P) OF 2026 दिनांक: 31-07-2026 के तहत जम्मू और कश्मीर केंद्र शासित प्रदेश के अधिवासियों से ऑनलाइन आवेदन आमंत्रित किए जाते हैं।
IMPORTANT DATES: The application form together with instructions will be available on the website of the Commission from 01.08.2026. Last date for filling up of online application form complete in all respects (including uploading of requisite documents) along with requisite fee is 31.08.2026.
Applicants can edit some fields in their online application form w.e.f. 01.09.2026 to 03.09.2026.

Prescribed Educational Qualifications:
• AP Bio Medical Engineering / AP Electrical & Electronics / AP Electronics & Communication Engineering: B.E/B.Tech and Master’s in relevant branch with first class or equivalent either in B.E/B.Tech or Master’s degree.
• Librarian: a) Good academic record with knowledge of Computerization of Library, having at least 55% marks (50% excluding any grace marks in case of SC/ST/Differently-abled category/Ph.D holder who obtained Master’s Degree prior to 19th September 1991) or an equivalent grade at the Master’s Degree level Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science.
b) Must have cleared NET/SLET/SET conducted by UGC, CSIR/AIU. c) Candidates awarded Ph.D degree in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009 shall be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
निर्धारित शैक्षिक योग्यताएं: सहायक प्रोफेसर इंजीनियरिंग पदों के लिए संबंधित शाखा में बी.ई/बी.टेक और मास्टर डिग्री में प्रथम श्रेणी होना अनिवार्य है। पुस्तकालयाध्यक्ष पद के लिए पुस्तकालय विज्ञान में 55% अंकों के साथ मास्टर डिग्री और NET/SLET/SET उत्तीर्ण होना आवश्यक है।
Age Limit Criteria (as on 1st January 2026):
• OM / In-service candidate / Government: Upper Age Limit: 40 years | Not born after: 01.01.2008 | Not born before: 01.01.1986
• Reserved categories: Upper Age Limit: 43 years | Not born after: 01.01.2008 | Not born before: 01.01.1983
• Physical Challenged: Upper Age Limit: 42 years | Not born after: 01.01.2008 | Not born before: 01.01.1982
Scheme of Selection & Written Examination Pattern:
Selection shall be made in terms of Rules 45 of the J&K Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 2021, as amended up-to-date. There shall be a written examination consisting of a single paper of 3 hours duration carrying 120 multiple choice questions, the syllabus for which is available on the official website of the Commission.
Centre of Examination:
The examination will be held at Srinagar & Jammu centres. Candidates shall indicate option for examination centre in the online application. Information indicating time table and Centre of Examination will be uploaded on the website about two weeks before the date of examination. Admit Cards will be available for downloading about two weeks before the exam date on jkpsc.nic.in.

How to Apply: Candidates are required to apply online through the website of the Commission i.e. http://www[dot]jkpsc[dot]nic[dot]in. First go to “One Time Registration” (OTR) or login, fill all requisite details, upload date-stamped recent passport size photo and signature (size 10kB to 20kB in .jpeg/.jpg). Click on “SHOW EXAMINATION” -> “APPLY”, verify facts, and SUBMIT.
