Applications are invited from the interested candidates in the Department of Wildlife Protection, Government of J&K sponsored project as per the details below:

The position will be purely temporary and shall be co-terminus with the project (i.e., January 2026). Eligibility: First class M.Sc. in Environmental Science / Ecology/ Biodiversity with 65% marks or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.84 on a 10 scale or equivalent. Applicants must be NET qualified.
Experience: Must have two years of experience as a Junior Research Fellow (preferably in animal ecology), as well as expertise in camera trapping and data processing in R and geospatial applications.
Remuneration per month: Senior Research Fellow (INR-42,000.00+9%HRA).
Upper age limit: As per UGC norms.
Headquarter: Institute of Mountain Environment, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, Bhaderwah.
Study area: The study area encompasses more than 100 km2 of rugged landscape comprising temperate and a sizable proportion of alpine and nival landscapes in upper Bhaderwah and Bani. Candidates may take note that the project requires intensive and prolonged fieldwork in extreme environmental conditions.
