SKIMS Medical College invites applications for tenure posts of Senior Residents, Registrars, and Tutor Demonstrators. Therefore, eligible medical graduates should apply. Moreover, the engagement is for a temporary tenure of one year. Furthermore, the college may extend the tenure based on performance.
In-Service Candidates
In-service candidates (PSC Confirmed) must route their applications through their parent department. Additionally, they should deposit an advance copy of the application form within the last date. Furthermore, the college will reject applications if the candidate fails to produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the parent department.
📋 Tenure & Pay Scale
Engagement Tenure
The engagement of Senior Residents is initially for one year. Moreover, the college may extend it for another year upon the recommendation of the concerned Head of Department (HOD). Furthermore, this extension requires a performance report endorsed by the Head of the Institution. The college considers a third-year extension subject to another performance report and final endorsement. However, all extensions remain subject to other conditions mentioned in the advertisement.
Pay Scale and Stipend
The college pays Non-Inservice (PSC non-confirmed) Senior Residents as per Government Order No. 48-SKIMS of 2018 dated June 06, 2018. Additionally, the order is endorsed vide No. SIMS 302 02 (XXXXV)/2018-1678-90 dated June 06, 2018. Furthermore, in-service candidates draw the same salary as their parent department with usual allowances admissible at this Institution.

⚖️ Terms & Conditions
A. Restrictions on Outside Applications and Strikes
- The tenure engage shall not apply for any Senior Residency position outside this Institution for at least one year after joining. However, the Principal may grant relaxation on merits after reviewing the HOD’s recommendation.
- To earn an experience certificate, the engage must serve for at least six months of the tenure.
- The tenure engage shall not participate in any strike or demonstration. Therefore, any deviation will attract strict action, including termination without notice.
B. Performance, Residency and Availability
- In case of unsatisfactory performance, conduct, or behaviour, the college can terminate the engagement anytime without notice.
- The engagement does not confer any right to claim continuation beyond the term. Consequently, the engage is automatically relieved upon expiry of the term unless the competent authority extends it specifically.
- The engage must reside within the vicinity of SKIMS Medical College. This ensures availability during emergencies in addition to routine duties.
C. Allowances, Vacations and Employment Status
- The tenure engage is entitled to HRA only if the college has not allotted campus accommodation. Additionally, the engage must obtain a certificate to this effect from the Estates Officer, SKIMS Soura / SKIMS MC Bemina.
- All conditions in the engagement policy document issued vide endorsement No: SKIMS/MC/PS/2023/455 dated 25/04/2023 will operate, as amended from time to time.
- There will be no winter or summer vacation during the tenure engagement.
- The tenure engage shall work on a full-time basis. Furthermore, they would not be entitled to private practice or undertake any simultaneous part-time or full-time job elsewhere.
D. Joining, Deployment and Security Deposit
- Non-Inservice (PSC non-confirmed) engages must join within seven days from the issuance of the order. However, in-service (PSC confirmed) candidates must join within twenty-one days after getting properly relieved from their parent department. Failing this, they shall forfeit their claim and the engagement shall stand cancelled without further notice. Relaxations, if any, would be accorded by the Principal on merits after reviewing recommendations of the Associate Dean / Registrar Academics.
- The college can deploy engages to allied specialties at SKIMS Soura / SKIMS MC Bemina and Community Health Blocks. It may also deploy them to any outreach area in the interest of patient care or academics.
- The college keeps the first 30 days’ salary as a security deposit and releases it at the end of the tenure. If the doctor leaves the tenure before one year (unless selected for Superspecialisation or a Faculty Position), the deposit would be forfeited.
E. Affidavit Requirement
- The engage must submit an undertaking sworn before a First Class Judicial Magistrate within two weeks of joining. This undertaking supports the acceptance of all terms and conditions. Furthermore, it states that the engage shall abide by all rules governing the engagement. Any breach shall make the engage liable to be relieved immediately without notice. Until the prescribed affidavit is submitted, the salary shall not be released.

The application form requires several personal and professional details. Firstly, candidates must provide their name, parentage, and date of birth. Declaration
Candidates must declare that the information they submit is genuine and correct. Furthermore, they must confirm that nothing has been concealed. If any information is found incorrect, the candidate shall be personally responsible for any action deemed fit by the administration of SKIMS MCH.
