Applications are invited on prescribed format from eligible candidates for engagement as Stipendiary Senior Residents on tenure basis initially for a period of ONE YEAR for vacant or likely to be vacant positions in the departments mentioned in ANNEXURE-I.

1. Essential Requirements

DM / MCh / DrNB / MD / MS / DNB Degree from a recognized College/University (as defined by the National Medical Commission).
J&K Medical Registration of DM / MCh / DrNB / MD / MS / DNB.
Domicile Certificate of J&K.
N.O.C. from Employer (for In-Service Candidates).
Papers / Publications (if any).
Awards (if any).
Fee Receipt of Rs. 1000/- Non-Refundable — to be deposited through P.O.S. in Academics Section by Card/UPI.
Undertaking as per Annexure-II — Affidavit duly attested by First Class Judicial Magistrate.

Annexure-I: Specialty & Prescribed Qualification

5.	Medicine & Allied Specialties	M.D./DNB (General Medicine) — Candidates with higher qualification (D.M/DrNB) can also apply.
6.	Surgery & Allied Specialties	M.S./DNB (General Surgery) — Candidates with higher qualification (M.Ch/DrNB) can also apply.

Age Limit, Financial Emoluments & How to Apply

2. Age Limit:

The upper age-limit for appointment as a Senior Resident in broad specialties shall be 45 years as on 01.01.2026.
Provided that for the subjects of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine and Community Medicine, the upper age-limit shall be 50 years.

3. Financial Emoluments:

The appointee shall be paid stipend plus other usual allowances as admissible under rules. HRA shall be payable only to those Senior Residents who are not provided accommodation at the SKIMS Campus.

4. How to Apply:

Candidates must apply in the prescribed form available on the SKIMS website (www.skims.ac.in) and submit it along with requisite documents, N.O.C. (for in-service candidates) and fee receipt of Rs. 1000/- in Academics Section (University Block), SKIMS Soura, Srinagar.

Last Date for Receipt of Applications: 27.07.2026 (04:00 P.M)
No application shall be entertained after cut-off date.

5. Written Test / Interview:

The date for Written Test/Interview shall be notified separately on the SKIMS website. No individual communication shall be made in this regard.

Terms & Conditions

The engagement shall be governed by all terms & conditions of tenure engagement in vogue at SKIMS. Any breach thereof shall make the Senior Resident liable for immediate relieving from the tenure job.
Certificate(s) must be issued by or before the last date of submission of application forms. No under-process certificate(s) shall be entertained.
Candidates eligible in more than one specialty are required to apply separately for each department with a separate fee receipt.
Candidates who have already completed three (03) years of Senior Residency at SKIMS or any other Institute in a particular department shall ordinarily not be eligible for engagement/re-engagement as Senior Residents in the same department. However, SKIMS reserves the right to consider such candidates for engagement/re-engagement in the event of non-availability of eligible candidates, inadequate response, or where institutional exigencies so warrant in the interest of patient care, academic activities, and departmental functioning.
Candidates are advised to submit filled-in application forms complete in all aspects. Incomplete forms are liable for REJECTION and no correspondence shall be entertained.
The decision of the competent authority shall be final and binding in all matters relating to the selection process and engagement.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the SKIMS website (www.skims.ac.in) for updates, corrigenda, and any changes in schedule. No individual communication shall be made.
Engagement under the notification is purely on tenure basis and does not confer any right to regularization, continuation, or permanent absorption in SKIMS.
The engagement shall be subject to satisfactory verification of character and antecedents by the competent authority.

Annexure-II: Affidavit Format (First Class Judicial Magistrate Attested)

Declaration of Domicile of UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
Declaration of department applied for as Senior Resident at SKIMS.
Details of previous Senior Residency completed (Department, Institute, duration).
Undertaking that if any qualification certificate is found fake, forged, or invalid, engagement shall be deemed cancelled ab initio with legal action initiated.
Declaration of truthfulness of submitted documents and acceptance of all advertisement terms and conditions.
