Advertisement Notice of Engagement of Project Staff

Applications are invited from eligible candidate for the following positions sanctioned in the research project
entitled “Structure and Functioning of Himalayan Monsoon Shadow Forest Ecosystems”,

Sub-project:
“To link species diversity for sustainable management of forests in monsoonal and monsoon-shadow
forest regions of Western Himalaya”, funded under the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS),
Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate change, Govt. of India. The engagement of staff shall be

initially for a period of one year subject to satisfactory performance and conduct. Further extension for a
maximum period of two years will be based on outcome, behaviour, conduct, performance and release of
funds by the funding agency.

The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The

* This category of Junior Project Fellow (JPF) is applicable only when NET qualified candidates are
not available and Junior Project Fellow (JPF) will be paid emoluments as per the Guidelines of the
Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Govt. of India.

General conditions:
1. The applicants shall be responsible for the authenticity of the information provided and documents submitted.
2. The applicants should be physically and mentally fit to undertake field surveys in high elevation mountainous
regions.
3. The staff engaged in the project shall be governed by the rules and regulations of the funding
agency/University of Kashmir.

4. The interview of the eligible applicants shall be conducted by a duly constituted Committee in offline
(physical) mode for which no TA/DA shall be paid. A notification for the interview shall be published in a
local newspaper and the list of eligible and shortlisted applicants will be displayed on the official website of
University of Kashmir website.
